Tipping Fees changed in July 2026

(Whitehorse Recycling & Waste Center)

  1. General Waste: $407/tonne ($380/tonne last year, increased 7.1%)

However, the minimum charge (up to 300kg) now is $125 ($130 last year, decreased $5), it seems that they know the tipping fees nowadays are pretty high already.

During our business, customers often question the price of the waste they want to dispose of…… One reason is that now the tipping fees are high, another reason is that there’s a minimum charge for small amounts of rubbish.

  1. Green Waste: $152/tonne ($137/tonne last year, increased 10.9%)

Minimum charge up to 460kg is $70 ➡ $15.2/100kg (last year was up to 400kg, $65 ➡ $16.2/100kg, it seems this price dropped a bit, but actually the volume of minimum charge goes up 60kg, which leave more profit gap to the tipping center)

  1. Concrete, Bricks, Ceramics: $122/tonne (last year $110/tonne, up 10.9%)

Minimum charge up to 500kg is $60 (was $52 last year, increased 15%)

Others like mattresses/bases $40/each (was $38/each last year, up 5%); LPG gas bottles (up to 9kg) is $24/each (was $22/each last year, up 9.1%).

Overall,  tipping fees this year increased a bit more than the inflation rate, yet still acceptable. In the next article, we will discuss the ridiculous rocking up of tipping fees two years ago.
