General Waste:
01/07/2023 – 30/06/2024: $280/tonne;
Minimum charge: $90;
01/07/2024 – 30/06/2025: $305/tonne, increased 9%;
Minimum charge: $120 increased 33%;
01/07/2025 – 30/06/2026: $ 380/tonne, increased 25%;
Minimum charge: $130 increased 8%;
01/07/2026 – Now : $407/tonne, increased 7%;
Minimum charge: $125 decreased 4%;
Note: minimum charge all up to 300kg during these 4 years.
In short, during the past 4 years, general waste tipping fees went up 45% per tonne, and the minimum charge (up to 300kg) rose 39% as well. That’s much more than the inflation rate during the period.
However, in the past 4 years, the tipping fee of Green Waste (↑17%) increased from $130/tonne to $152/tonne, Concrete, Bricks, Ceramics (↑18.5%) rose from $103/tonne to $122/tonne.
